Harvard Stadium: Home of the Crimson
Harvard Stadium, a historic facility that is often overlooked even within it’s own city. But there was a time when this was the epicenter of football. Harvard Stadium is the closest thing we have in the United State to a roman coliseum. Sitting on the concrete slabs that are seats one can easily imagine what it must have been like cheering on the gladiators in ancient Rome. But it is also easy to imagine this stadium was once the home of the most competitive conference in all of college sports. The Ivy leagues prominence gave way when the league made the decision to not give scholarships to their athletes but not after Harvard captured . The sport changed but gamedays here are still special. There is no doubt that Harvard Stadium significantly impacted the game of football making it what it is today; after all these years it is still some of the most hallowed grounds in all of sports.
